Essential information

As Slovakia is only 600 km wide (east-west) and 350 km high (south-north) flying is not very popular, although you can find some flights from Bratislava to cities of Košice and Poprad.

Traveling by Slovak railways is quite a comfortable option and is free for students and people over 60.

Road network is in a good shape, but there is not direct highway connection from Bratislava to Košice. You can still make it under 5 hours of drive.



There are four main motorways (all paid) in Slovakia. D1 starts in Bratislava and finishes on the border in Vysne Nemecke. D2 starts in Brodske and finishes in Rusovce.
