Museum of the Liptov village in Pribylina was established as a way of preserving the most valuable movable and immovable monuments when the Liptovská Mara dam was built. Besides wooden folk architecture, the museum also presents copies of two most valuable monumental objects from flood plains – Early Gothic church of Virgin Mary from Liptovská Mara and Gothic-Reinassacne mansion from Parížovce (the oldest yeoman settlement in Liptov). A static exposition of “Považská” forest railway is situated in the upper part of museum’s area. The museum also has its own zoo exposition special with Hucul horse breeding. Visitors may take them for a ride. The museum is situated behind Podbanské, before Pribylina village (on the way to Liptovský Hrádok).
